Window 6: Air

Today’s window, element of air, focuses on butterflies. Butterflies — light and airy, each one more unique and beautiful than the last — symbolize powerful transformation. As insects, they transcend life and go through a complete metamorphosis. They’re flight is a delicate dance through the air from flower to flower, to me a reminder that growth does not have to be traumatic, but can be as gentle as our mind allows.

Through its chrysalis, it goes from caterpillar, to liquid, to building every wing and organ, until finally being reborn as a butterfly. This transformation is one the most extreme known on Earth, and the caterpillar must lose everything in order to become a butterfly. Times of change are difficult, but it’s in times like this we can call on the butterfly to keep a light heart and embrace the uncertainty of transition. Like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, freedom and lightness awaits on the other side.

Infinite quote of the day:
We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.
